Cooking Class + Mezcal Tasting in Mexico City – Day of the Dead -

“La Cocina de los Muertos” is not just a dinner—it is a living ritual that honors memory, tradition, and flavor.

During this experience, guests not only enjoy learning and cooking a menu inspired by the symbolic elements of the altar, but they also take part in the creation of the Día de Muertos ofrenda in our home.

Each participant is invited to bring a photograph of a loved one, including pets, to place on the shared altar. In this way, the experience transcends gastronomy: it becomes an intimate and communal space where life is celebrated, and those who came before us are remembered with joy.

The dinner unfolds as both a sensory and emotional journey, where the aromas of copal, the marigold flowers, the mole negro, the pan de muerto, and the café de olla intertwine with stories, memories, and rituals that unite locals and visitors in a single tribute.

Cooking Class + Mezcal Tasting in Mexico City – September 15

On September 15, live an authentic experience: a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn step by step how to prepare chile en nogada, an iconic dish of Mexican cuisine. You’ll also enjoy a guided tasting of 4 premium artisanal mezcals and 1 mezcal cocktail, each introduced with its story, origin, and tasting notes.

At the end, we’ll share an intimate dinner together with what we cooked, in a cozy space just one block from the Zócalo. After dinner you can just step out side and live in full all the Mexican Experience of El Grito.
